 When Kathy asked me to decorate a room in
deBoerderij, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I decided to go with a warm, romantic
feeling room, which is brought about with the large dark wood furniture and deep
red color. The main focus of my room is my large four poster bed. After all, it is
a BED and breakfast. (I'll leave the later of the two up to my mother-in-law...and
I know she won't let you down.) I wanted the bed to be cozy, comfortable, and inviting
and I'm sure you'll find it so. My favorite place in the room is the window seat
where you can curl up with a good book, some coffee and Dutch pastries, or just sit
and enjoy the view.

I am very happily married to Ron & Kathy's youngest son, Michael. Mike grew up
in this very house, which used to be part of a dairy, and I was raised on a farm
in the small nearby town of Leighton. We were married in August of 1999 and both
graduated from Iowa State University in 2000. Mike's love for dairying stayed strong,
so right after graduation we packed up and moved to Chestertown, Maryland where Mike
had accepted a job working for Horizon Organic Dairy and is currently General Manager.
On March 1, 2003 we were blessed with the birth of our daughter. I am now a proud
stay at home mom raising our very strong-willed, impatient, but very precious little
girl. We now miss our families more than ever but are also enjoying our time out
East, and we hold our visits "home" to Pella dear to our hearts.
